FRANKENSTEIN: AN HOMAGE TO MARY WOLLENCRAFT SHELLEY
Frankenstein: an homage to Mary Wollencraft Shelley is an installation by Robyn Mineko Williams and Melina Ausikaitis inspired by the journals and literature of Mary Shelley.
Built specifically to fit within the architecture of the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, the audience members stood in the second floor corridor of the Logan Center overlooking the action of the dancers in the catwalk above and courtyard below while Aitis Band played a live extended version of their song, Frankenstein, in the corridor with the audience.
Commissioned by HSPro in collaboration with the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts and University of Chicago’s Dance Program in Theater and Performance Studies (TAPS)
Premiered March 2020, Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, Chicago, IL
“a collaboration that was complex, multi-disciplinary, and ultimately breathtaking.” Ellen Wiese, UChicago Arts
